A remarkable engineering story!
Famous for the Eiffel Tower, the engineer Gustave Eiffel also made history with impressive works, including the Garabit viaduct, located nearby. Inaugurated in 1884, this masterpiece held a world record at the time thanks to its metal arch of 165 meters of reach, supporting a platform perched 122 meters above the ground.
But that’s not all! His genius is also expressed in our territory through the bridge on the Lebot, which you can cross by taking the road connecting Cantoin to the Pont de Tréboul.

Nestled in an exceptional setting, the lake of Sarrans is a true refuge for fauna and flora. Its ecosystem is home to rare and protected species, such as the superb carnation, a flower with finely chiseled petals. In the surrounding waters and forests, you can also observe the European otter, the white-legged crayfish as well as several majestic birds such as the royal kite, the peregrine falcon, the great owl and the black woodpecker.
